Is Green Required?

We are living in very deceptive and subtle days, not only for America but also for every Christian in every country around the world. How does the greening down of our outlook line up with our relationship with God, or does it?

If it was suddenly declared that the only true place that you could direct your worship towards was this earth that we live on and it's environment, how would you react? I know I would once have said impossible! Can't happen, too radical of an idea. Six months ago staying at home, wearing a mask everywhere and not being able to go to church was an impossible thought also. How quickly things change. I bring this up only so that we may all be aware of the day in which we live and so that between the time you read this and the time that we elect new leaders in our own countries, we are on our knees seeking Gods direction. We are probably at one of the biggest crossroads of any free country ever, if there is such a thing in todays world.

If you look at the first chapter of Hebrews you will find some revelations from God that are very very emphatic. He puts His Son in His rightful and true place in these statements. He puts Him above the angels. He says that he laid the foundation of the earth. He leaves no doubt of Gods firm position for the earth. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 says. "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come; For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!" These things used to be hidden but are now in the open. We see it in high places, we see it everywhere, we even see it creeping into the church.

Acts 19:23-41 speaks clearly and is only one of many examples in which people want and desire to hang onto other false gods because of the money involved. Do you see the environmental movement around the world raking in huge amounts of funds for many organizations? Of course we do. We are encouraged to "Think Green" about every facet of our lives. Think green should not be an open door to "Worship Green." Don't get me wrong, I am not saying ignore the care of our fantastic surroundings God created, just be prudent and wise in our caretaker process. It is great to be a good steward of the earth God has given us, but it was not given to us to be raised and lifted above Him.

Isaiah 5:6 says; "Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, the earth will grow old like a garment, and those who dwell in it will die in like manner; but My salvation will be forever, and My righteousness will not be abolished." We also read in Genesis 1:26 & 28 that God gave us dominion over ALL the earth and to fill the earth and SUBDUE it. Subdue doesn't mean to treat it with reckless abandon, just take good care of it as we make good use of it, but not to the point of worship. Do people really want to worship a god that they have dominion over and that they can subdue? What kind of power could a god like that possibly have that would help or save any of us? Even so, many are headed in this direction and are trying to influence our nations to do the same. Many are bowing down before the earth. What a distraction Satan has created, perverting God's purpose in His useful creation for mankind.

I just want to share a few thoughts and ask some questions that we all need to find the answers to. What roles, if any, do the leaders and the public faces of our nations have and what do they say about the "Greening" of America and other nations as well? Do they have an agenda beyond the call to conservation? Conservation in and of itself is good stewardship.

Current examples are many but let's look at a few of the things we do know that will give us some thought for prayer by taking a look back a few years. Someone in authority, former Vice President, Al Gore's book called, "Earth in The Balance." is interesting. First, catch this quote from his book on page 220. "I believe that our civilization is in effect, addicted to the consumption of the earth itself. The froth and the frenzy of industrial civilization masks our deep loneliness for the communion with the world, or the earth, that can lift our spirits and fill our senses with the richness and the immediacy of life itself. The prevailing ideology of belief in the pre-historic Europe in much of the world was based on the worship of a single earth goddess, who was assumed to be the fount of all life and who radiated harmony amongst all living things. The last vestige of organized goddess worship was eliminated by Christianity as late as the 15th century. It seems obvious that a better understanding of goddess worship could offer us new insights into all of nature and the human experience." Starting on page 269 he concludes, "We must make the rescue of the global environment the central organizing principal for civilization. This means using every policy and program, every law and institution, every treaty and alliance, every tactic and strategy, every plan and course of action to halt the destruction of the environment and preserve and nurture our ecological system." Is this currently being amplified by many in our land?

We narrowly missed having a treaty called The Convention on Biological Diversity pushed on us in 1994 based on Mr. Gore's advice to President Bill Clinton to do so. This would have opened us up to some very scary things. It actually calls for a fundamental change in our religious practices to what is known as pantheism. That is the simple belief that all things in nature are a part of god and that god actually is nature. The United Nations initially told us in 1993 that no such document existed or would be written. Low and behold it suddenly showed up one day prior to a vote on it in the United States Congress. This document describes in detail the new religious belief system that the world must adhere to, wherein nature is the all commanding word for all of our nations and that we must make ourselves an integral part of nature's rhythms. Even though President Clinton had already signed the treaty, the appearance of these papers at that time was enough to stop our congressional leaders from ratifying it. Remember, things change quickly. These efforts have not stopped, just repackaged in smaller bites.

In light of current efforts to lift up the "greening" effort before the masses what should we look for. There have been many efforts recently to adopt a World Constitution, fully embracing a Green New Deal. We currently hear many public faces saying we need to spend many trillions of dollars to fix what God created. Guess who's pocket that comes from? It seems that man will somehow, in his own intellect, find it easier to create a god out of almost anything instead of bowing down and worshiping the One that created the heavens and the earth in the first place.

As I mentioned at the first of this article, we need to be in prayer for the immediate future of our leaders, in all of our nations. We need to pray until we see a change. A change in which our nations acknowledge that God is in control. We need to pray that God will open the eyes, minds and spirits of all of our nations leaders and pour in His Holy Spirit. Satan the great deceiver is at work, making everything he wants to do sound good and logical. Let the Spirit discern all things.
