I Was in my office today thinking about how almost the whole earth is in turmoil because of a virus that started in just one country. How is that possible? How could it circle the globe so quickly and have such a powerful impact on our way of life? How could the economics of great countries be brought to their knees by such a small beginning. Many ask if this is the end of all things. One could twist their thinking to accept that if they only look at this moment in time. We need to look at the big picture.
Almost all of the end times views have been placed before us like the small pieces in a large jigsaw puzzle. We need to treat Biblical prophecy that way, each prophecy fits into a particular place. How do we know where it fits? I remember when I was just a small kid doing puzzles with my aunt. She would say when we started a puzzle, “You need to look at the picture on the box and study it to make this puzzle easy to put together.” This is great and helpful information but do I have the right box with the right picture for this time? I believe that the times we are in today give us a clearer picture on the box than ever before. I believe current times will allow us to fit the pieces together, linking the Book of Revelations to today’s world. We each need to take it upon ourselves to seek the answer.
Biblical Israel now is much easier to fit into the puzzle. Look at all of the efforts they are making to secure “peace and security.” Look at how simple it is for someone to take a “mark” or image on the hand or forehead for commerce. We are currently seeing how easy it is to track our movements using our phones and other data. They suggest that we do that now because of the virus. We all have the ability too see the same events taking place around the world at the same time. We give in to these processes so easy when we feel the need for security. Not even a second thought. God gave us a picture on the box. We can bring the pieces of the puzzle into focus in these perilous times. We can trust God to give us a heads up at what is ahead so we can prepare. We need not fear where we are but know that times of trouble will continue to escalate, bringing us into what God called, The Days of Noah and Lot. These two men are the “Picture on the Box” God has given us to put the puzzle of Revelation and end times together.
As we look ahead we can see trouble, chaos and tribulation on the horizon. We know it is coming, God’s word is being fulfilled in our time. The trials and tribulations of life come from all around us. They are actions taken by men, by nations and by different ideologies. We can sort out the wrath of God seen in Revelations this way; trials and tribulation are on a horizontal plane. They occur from people to people, nation to nation across the earth. The wrath of God is released on a vertical plane, from heavens to earth. Understanding tribulation and wrath will give us a much clearer “picture on the box.” It is clearly seeing that picture that will give strength and hope ahead. It is what will lift us up, give us strength and carry us through some trials and tribulation. It is what gives us the assurance of being lifted up into the bosom of God in a day of wrath. Acts 14:22 says, “We must through many tribulations enter into the kingdom of God.” But, here is the great news in 1 Thessalonians 1:10, “….to wait for (God’s) Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.”
Let’s pray, study, have discernment and look at the “picture on the box” and be aware of the times we live in. We as believers should not be caught unaware of our surroundings or our circumstances. Let’s remember that as citizens in the Kingdom of God we are in the world but not part of the world. Noah and Lot stood apart and were saved. Trust God to open your mind and your spiritual understanding of what lies ahead. Trade in your fear of the future for the redemption of all things. Destruction was close at hand for Lot but the Angel said to him, “Hurry, escape there. For I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Our sanctuary is in Christ. We need to discern the times and be rapture ready.
Have a great day.
